SusHouse

Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 August 2026

The short version

  • There are no accounts. You never sign up, and we never ask for your name or email.
  • Player names, photos and game history are stored on your phone only. They are never uploaded.
  • We run no ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking of any kind.
  • We never sell or share your data. There is nothing to sell.
  • Delete the app and the data goes with it.

The rest of this page explains that in full. If anything here is unclear, email us — the address is at the bottom.

Who we are

The people behind SusHouse

SusHouse is a party game you play in person, passing one phone around.

This policy covers the SusHouse iOS app and this website. SusHouse is made and published by Med Kalech, an independent solo developer based in Düsseldorf, Germany — referred to below as "I" or "we". There is no company behind it, and no team: one person wrote the app and one person reads the support inbox.

The detail

What the app stores, and where

Almost everything stays on your device and never reaches us.

WhatWhere it lives
Player names you type Your device Saved so returning players can be recognised next game.
Player photos (selfies) Your device Stored in the app's own storage. Never uploaded, never sent anywhere.
Game history and stats Your device Games played, wins, roles, and which words have come up.
Drawings made in Drawing mode Your device Held in memory for the round, then discarded.
Which free pack rounds you've used Your device Kept in the iOS keychain so it survives reinstalling.
Settings (sound, haptics) Your device
Word packs and categories Downloaded from our database on Google Firebase. A read-only request — nothing about you is sent with it beyond the technical basics below.
Purchases Handled entirely by Apple. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened, never your payment details.

Third parties

Google Firebase

We use Firebase for one thing: fetching the word packs you play with.

To load categories, the app connects to Google Firebase (Firestore). To make that request, the app creates an anonymous identifier tied to your device installation. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or anything else about you, and we cannot use it to identify you.

As with any internet request, Google processes your IP address and basic device and network information in order to serve the response. This is handled under Google's privacy terms for Firebase.

We do not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, advertising IDs, or any other measurement product.

Third parties

Apple

Apple handles every payment. We never see your card.

In-app purchases go through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether you own a pack. Your payment method, billing address and Apple ID are never shared with us.

If you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us anonymised crash reports. You control this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Permissions

Camera

Only used when you choose to take a player photo, and the photo stays on your phone.

The app asks for camera access the first time you add a photo to a player. If you decline, everything still works — players simply use a character illustration instead. Photos are saved into the app's own storage on your device. They are not uploaded, not backed up to our servers, and not shared with anyone.

What we don't do

Things this app will never do

This list matters as much as the one above.

Your data

Deleting everything

Delete the app and it's gone. There's no server copy to request.

Because player names, photos and history live only on your device, uninstalling SusHouse removes them permanently. You can also remove individual saved players inside the app at any time.

One exception: the record of which free pack rounds you have already used is stored in the iOS keychain, which deliberately survives reinstalling. It contains nothing but pack names.

Purchases are tied to your Apple ID rather than to us, so they restore automatically if you reinstall.

Your rights

GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA

You have rights over your data — though in our case we hold almost none of it.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Since we do not operate user accounts and do not store personal data on our servers, in practice there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase — the data is on your device and under your control.

Where processing does occur (the Firebase request described above), our lawful basis is legitimate interest: delivering the word packs needed for the app to function. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

To exercise any right, or to complain, contact us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Age

Children

SusHouse isn't aimed at children under 13.

SusHouse is not directed at children under 13, and the App Store age rating shown on its listing reflects its content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no personal information on our servers at all, there is nothing for us to hold — but if you believe a child has shared something with us, contact us and we will act on it.

Housekeeping

Changes to this policy

If this changes meaningfully, we'll say so in the app.

We may update this policy as the app develops. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how your data is handled, we will surface a notice in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
